Still haven’t froze up yet! This is Middle of January?

No lake isnt frozen. We have had a mild winter so far. 😘

I live in sw Michigan. I thought it was colder Up north

We certainly has had a warmer winter.

Looks very dangerous to get to close! Rough waters!

I puke not want to be on that boat....

I love "Crushed-Ice"!

Need to take trip there! By myself.

No ice bridge this year

So beautiful.

Putting the Mackinaw out of business?

Lovely but cold I'm sure...

Great picture of the Straits. My mother's Uncle was Ed Chase. He was Superintendent of the Docks for Michigan for many years in '40's, '50's, etc. Then an owner of one if the ferry companies.

When do you stop making trips for the winter?

This is a different look from June when we cross. Live it.

Wow...looks cold! I’d love to make that trek!

Wow, looks so cold. It would be scary!

Heading to the island next month....looks like it may be frozen by then.

Wow! So the ferry can still transport to Mackinaw Islands this time of year??!

This reminds me of the titanic I couldn't do it with all that ice

Brrr. Cold trip to the island today.

Incredible ♡♡♡♡♡

Wish I was there again!!

Beautiful!

Looks nice.

Beautiful

Shepler's Mackinac Island Ferry

BTS with one of our Demand Detroit engines out of our birthday girl, the WELCOME. This winter our talented marine services crew entirely rebuilt her engines making for an even better experience aboard our first motor vessel, who turned 50 this past season. Here we're adjusting the governor while checking for leaks or other necessary adjustments before putting the power back on board. Fun stuff in the off-season!! ⛴🙌🏽🇺🇸

I've ridden on every sheplers ferry except miss Margy. You maintain your vessels nicely! This engine sounds great! I'm a machinist who makes brass fittings for these and other heavy equipment. Only the best have our fittings. DD are one of the finest!

Alan N Mary Korch.

One of my favorite engines. Thanks Sue Regenold Conlon

Sounds beautiful

Jamie Buckner
